Get up close to humpback whales in Hervey Bay From August to October, Hervey Bay 'the Whale Watch Capital of the World' is visited by many humpback whales during their annual migration south. Visitors come from all over the world, to cruise to view these amazing creatures in action. There are whales to see and more behavior patterns to enjoy, breaching, spy-hopping, tail and pec-slapping and the very popular "socialising", when some whales become as inquisitive of us, as we are about these gentle giants from Antarctica.
